SUMMARY
Catherine specialises in personal French tax issues for residents and non-residents of France including the preparation and submission of personal French tax returns, the review of personal French tax affairs and circumstances to explore tax planning opportunities and the preparation of tax claims to recover overpaid taxes if found relevant. Being fully bilingual, she provides valuable advice when considering a permanent move to France and the purchase or the sale of a French property by offering a friendly tailored service to individuals and intermediaries either in meetings or telephone consultations.
Catherine joined the firm in 2006 as a French Tax Assistant and took up the position of French Tax Assistant manager in 2015.
Born and bred in Normandy, Catherine studied for a degree in English at the university of Rouen, her native town prior to moving to Guernsey 30 years ago to teach French in two of the local secondary schools. Catherine joined the finance industry in 1989 and spent several years dealing with UK and Guernsey tax clients before deciding to work with Virginie Deflassieux ten years ago, allowing her to apply her experience in taxation, combined with her language skills, in the French tax department of PKF, now BDO Limited.
